The American Heart Association’s (AHA) Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk brings our region together annually to fund research and education in the fight against heart disease and stroke—the number one and number five leading causes of death in the United States. Electric Boat’s support of the AHA and participation in the walk is a proud tradition, and one that continued this year in record numbers.
Electric Boat employees rallied a record number of 36 teams comprised of 257 walkers, representing over half of the 66 total Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk teams. Thanks to the fundraising efforts of employees and generous donations received, Electric Boat came in as the top company in the region, raising over $33,000 for the AHA—far surpassing our $27,000 goal.
Electric Boat is proud to support the AHA and continue the tremendous momentum we’ve created to bring education and wellness to our communities. We look forward to continuing our tradition of support next year and beyond.
