If you’re looking to explore a career in the exciting and dynamic world of shipbuilding, The Boat Program is the perfect starting point. This two-session introductory program offers hands-on exposure to a variety of essential manufacturing trades. Whether you’re considering a career change, exploring new skills, or just curious about the trades that keep the maritime industry moving, this program is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the trades that power our fleet.
What to Expect: During the two-session program, which typically runs for two nights from 5–8 PM, you will have the opportunity to explore different manufacturing trades each night, gaining practical experience and insights into what makes each trade unique. The trades you’ll explore include welding, machining, pipefitting, and more!

The Boat Program+ is a free, one-day program designed for individuals with prior military or professional experience, particularly those with a background in leadership roles. If you are a former or active military personnel or a professional with a foundation in leadership, this is an excellent opportunity to leverage your skills in a dynamic and rewarding maritime environment.
At Boat Program+, we offer specialized opportunities within our Ships Testing Organization (STO), focusing on a wide range of key areas that are vital to the safe and efficient operation of submarines. Explore the following roles and contribute to the advancement of maritime safety and performance:
